Andrew 'rere' Young is a filmmaker and an advocate for UNICEF born in Lagos, Nigeria. He is called Rere which he says is the new short form for Andrew. Having been raised in a single home made Young realize his
passions quickly at an early age. He has always loved writing stories
and had a very keen interest in movies and how they are made. Young was
raised in Nigeria and moved to the United Kingdom to further his
education where he fully embraced a professional interest in the world
of films and television imagery, stories, screenwriting and content development.
Following a formal education in digital film making at SAE
Institute, Young has had many opportunities to experience various levels
of production which includes production management, producing,
screenwriting, directing, editing and content developing. With
formative working years in the United Kingdom, Middle East and West
Africa, Young has explored a variety of traditions, cultures and
aspirations of different lands which weaves his eclectic perspective
into a refined and enigmatic approach of cinematics. Young is attracted
to all elements that build and capture an image from concept to screen and is known to always
pay very close attention to details.
Over the years Young has worked with award winning industry African entertainers, artistes, movie stars, models, television icons, directors and producers. Naming a few would be D'banj, Richard Mofe Damijo, Sesan, Dr.
Sid, Genevieve Nnaji, Eku Edewor, Don Jazzy, Sway, Kas, etc. Young has also worked on various television commercials and
videos in the Middle East and the United Kingdom.
With over six years experience in the industry working with international and multicultural film makers, television directors and crew,
Young has parralled his expertise in the film and television industry
which entails video directing, producing, editing, screenwriting with
sensitive detailed collaboration with all other departments of
production to produce artistic and challenging videos that are
entertaining, informating and educating.

Young is also extremely passionate and adamant about the development of young African kids which has made him an advocate for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
